Layer3's service to Ecobank involved providing a metropolitan low-latency and secured hybrid network of WIMAX and fiber, linking all Ecobank branches in Abuja together, and to the bank's headquarters in Lagos. The connectivity to Lagos was over Layer3's leased longhaul private fiber line.

The service provides the bank with a fast, secured, efficient, reliable and always-on managed private VPN backed with a robust SLA from Layer3.

Other banks currently utilizing Layer3's Managed Private VPN service include: Zenith Bank, UBA, GTB, Intercontinental Bank, Aso Savings & Loans, Diamond Bank, FCMB, Hasal Microfinance Bank and Fortis Microfinance Bank.
